Forgotten code: fine structure 3D

When I cobbled together ‘fine structure’, I also tried my hand on a 3D version. For over a year, I completely forgot where I put the code, until this evening. Most of the code is rough but two pieces are presentable. Click the images to go to the constructs.

When in lo-res, move the mouse up or down to adjust the threshold level of the noise curves. Clicking the applet switches between dynamic lo-res mode and static hi-res mode.

  1. This is beautiful– do you have any plans of making it move, or making it open to audio or any other kind of data input?

  2. Thanks, I’m planning to get into sound-driven constructs. But for the moment I’m holding a bit back. So much incredible stuff has been done on this by other people (e.g. http://www.flight404.com/blog/), I’m actually a bit intimidated by the prospect…

  3. But your aesthetic is different– it will definitely hold its own mate:)
